MSc students' allowance - typically used to pay inconvenience allowance for subjects in C84RPL/C84PRO project work
Under certain conditions, students on the MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuroimaging can claim a small amount of money (£100 in 2010/11; up-to-date amount to be announced by email) for the payment of inconvenience allowances to subjects or for other scientific purposes (e.g. conference registration fees, hardware purchase etc).
Expenses need to be approved by the project supervisor (if in School of Psychology) or by the MSc course director (if project supervisor from outside School of Psychology), then please follow these
guidelines with link to expenses claim form. Plesae familiarize yourself with these guidelines before you fill in/hand in an expenses claim form.
For the claims that refer to subjects' inconvenience allowances, the procedure is also explained below (email from Deborah Cartledge, Psychology Research Support Office, 12 March 2010).
- Complete the expenses claim form (follow link to form above) by entering the amount requested
- Photocopy your student ID onto the sheet
- Make two copies
- Sign both copies in blue ink
- Have your supervisor sign the top right hand corner of the sheet
- Place in our office 'in tray' (We are in room B76)
- The forms will be authorised by me usually first thing each working day
- Collect from the 'out tray'
- Take to Victor Cipko for signing
- He will retain one copy, the other you must take to the Cashiers office, top floor in Portland Building
- Return the funds to Victor Cipko for safe keeping until you need to use them (collect enough for each day of testing when required)
- Use the attached form for collecting signatures
- Return the signature form to Victor Cipko once the funds have been used
